Steps and risers have always been the awkward part of a resin bound project. Standard binders sag on vertical surfaces, so the cleanest projects stopped where the surface turned upward. Not anymore.
Resin Mill Vertical is an extremely thixotropic version of our market-leading resin, developed so you can clad steps and other vertical surfaces with the same stone carpet finish as the rest of the project.
What is Resin Mill Vertical?
It is a UV stable, waterproof 3 part binder system that doubles as a primer for coved skirts and as the binding agent for laying resin bound stone vertically. It dries virtually water white and will not discolour with age, so your finished steps keep matching the surface around them.
What is in the KIT?
- 1.8kg of Resin Mill Vertical resin (0.9kg Part A + 0.9kg Part B)
- Stone Carpet Catalyst and a dosing syringe
- One 25kg bag of your chosen 1-3mm stone, available in 14 colours
One KIT covers approx 1m² or 5 linear metres of steps (assuming an average step of 200mm).
Good to know: one KIT mixes with approx 12.5kg of stone, about half of the 25kg bag supplied. Dusty natural aggregate takes the full 12.5kg; use less with coloured quartz or other non-dusty stone. The maximum recommended stone size is 2-3mm.
How is it applied?
- Thoroughly mix Part B into Part A.
- Add 10-15ml of catalyst with the syringe and mix well (25ml in winter months).
- Apply a liberal coat of the mixed resin to the vertical surface as a primer, typically 0.5kg or just over a quarter of the mix.
- Mix the remaining resin with approx 12.5kg of 1-3mm aggregate until all stones are evenly coated.
- Trowel the stone onto the vertical surface while the primer is still wet, at an even depth of 5-6mm.
