Instructions

Important: All materials must be bound using the Flexirox polyurethane binder in accordance with our provided guidance. Surface Preparation: 1.) The substrate must be dry, clean, and free from laitance, oil, grease, and any loose material that may affect adhesion. 2.) Suitable edgings may be installed where required, using brick, stone, concrete, aluminium, or timber to provide a defined and professional finish. 3.) Alternatively, Flexirox can be installed without edging, with the surface hand-formed to a 45° angle for a clean, seamless edge. Mixing Instructions: 1.) Add the rubber crumb and decorative aggregate to the mixer and dry mix until you achieve a consistent 50/50 colour distribution between rubber and stone. 2.) We provide the resin in 6.8 kg kits ready to pour into the mixer or larger containers of which can be weighed out on site. Weigh out the required resin for that mix if necessary. 3.) Add the binder to the rubber and aggregate mixture and continue mixing for 2–3 minutes until fully combined. 4.) Our catalyst may be added to accelerate curing times. The required amount will vary depending on temperature, weather conditions, and humidity. For guidance on catalyst ratios, please contact our technical support team. Application 1.) Transfer the mixed Flexirox material into a lined wheelbarrow & take it immediately to the application area. 2.) Once mixed, Flexirox has a working time of approximately 70 minutes, so timely application is essential. 3.) Evenly distribute the material across the prepared surface using a screed, rake, or straight-bladed squeegee to achieve the desired depth. Finish the surface with a magnesium trowel to achieve a smooth, compacted finish. 4.) Allow the surface to cure for a minimum of 6 hours before allowing any traffic. For best results, we recommend leaving the surface undisturbed for 24 hours. Full curing may take up to 36 hours, depending on temperature and humidity. For high-traffic areas, allow at least 48 hours before use. Note: All newly installed Flexirox surfaces should be protected during curing. Cure times may vary based on environmental conditions. Typical cure window: 6–24 hours.
